-6 Iridium Flares X 3 south of Arcturus was created by flt158
Hi everyone.
I thought I should give the heads -up that there will be no less than 3 Iridium Flares very close to the south of Arcturus tonight Monday 16th August. Here are some details.
1. Iridium 54: -6.1 at 23.45.
2. Iridium 12: -5.9 at 23. 54
3. Iridium 13: -5.8 at 00.03 (after midnight)
All information given on www.heavens-above.com
I reckon that each Iridium Flare will be less 2 degrees south of Arcturus.
Clear skies to all.
Aubrey.

Yes, Seanie. You are totally correct. Iridium Flare 12 was much fainter than it was suggested on www.heavens-above.com . I reckon it was no more than -1.
Iridium 13 just after midnight was very bright in the dark western sky. It was definitely -5.8. What I thought was most extraordinary was both Iridium Flares both occurred only a couple of degrees south of Arcturus.
Clear skies,
Aubrey.

For me, I'd say it was magnitude +2, much fainter than Arcturus.
