Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better programs, and the universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the universe is winning.

Hi all
I am looking to attempt the challenge this year either the 24th or 25th, what I am looking for is a good location someplace in Wicklow, high up, good eastern and southern views, does any one know of such a location?
Paul

You could walk up to the upper lake in Turlough Hill .
Would one of the car-parks over looking Lough Tay suit? Thye have good views to the South.
Michael.

Hi Paul.
What about Lough Dan?
Or that field nearby that you and I visited last year?
Clear skies,
Aubrey.

Lough Dan is surrounded by the mountains and they should obscure the horizon. I would imagine Lough Tay would be similar to the west and east. What do you think of the car park at Brittas Bay? There are good views to the east and south, I think there are low hills to the west, Wicklow town is north and not much to the south.

Thanks for your keenness, Paul.
Whilst I am not bothered with the Messier Marathon, I would be willing to give it a try.
What about security?
Boy racers might be a problem.
Aubrey.

The Brittas (South) Car-Park looks like it closes over night.
The Balinstoe car-park over lough Tay is up off the road. It has good south views but the East is not so good.
