Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better programs, and the universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the universe is winning.

It does close, Michael the only drawback, there are small entrances, cars would be parked on the road, i plan to use binos, so not a problem, scopes a little different. I must take a trek up to Lough Tay to have a look.

Hi Michael and Paul.
I thought it would have been a good idea to bring our scopes.
I would be on for that if it is possible.
By the way, I would like to observe Venus.
Clear skies,
Aubrey.

Thanks Paul,
I could bring my dob. That's portable enough for this.
Michael.

I took a trip down to lough Tay this afternoon, it looks a good site, there is a second site about 500 metres further down the road that looks better, there is a similar size car park, but a side road going up to a walkway and it is further back from the trees with a better chance to see the east.

I'm going to post a meeting on Meetup and see what comes of it.

We're aiming for Friday March 24th, weather permitting, Saturday 25th otherwise. I plan to be there by 18.00, sunset is 18.45.
Fingers crossed for the weather.

Hi Paul.
Friday 24th is good for me.
I am checking road maps for the R759.
I know it runs through Sally Gap.
We might have a peek at Venus and Mercury soon after sunset seeing that you are considering a 6 o'clock start.
Is there a good low western horizon?
Clear skies,
Aubrey.
