Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better programs, and the universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the universe is winning.

Friday 23rd will see Aldebaran occulted by the moon. The star will disappear at 16.30 on the dark limb and will emerge 70 minutes later on the sunlit side.
Here's hoping for clear weather.

I'm hoping to give this occultation a go, Paul.
It has been almost 40 years since I saw the Moon passing in front of Aldebaran.
Be warned! This will not be easy. The sun sets at about 6 pm.
The southern sky must be 100% clear.
Clear skies from Aubrey.

I agree.
Not even a patch of blue in any part of the sky.
I suppose asking for 4 clear nights in a row is always going to be a big ask!
Still there is another Moon -Aldebaran occultation in March.
Maybe that will come good next time.
Aubrey.

Thank you, Paul, of this excellent video.
Maybe we will all see Aldebaran being occulted by the Moon in the very near future.
