Wow, we have to wait a whole year before the Lunar 'X' reappears. I'm definitely glad I I made the effort to go out and view it - thanks again for the 'heads-up' Aubrey.

Hi Darren.
You see the reason it is enormously difficult to observe the Lunar X is that those 5 craters' rims need to have the Sun to catch the top of them at precisely the correct position. I believe the apparition is gone after 3 hours.
It is so unforgiving.
People on www.cloudynights.com issue the dates and times every January.
