Penumbral eclipse

I've been hoping for a reasonably clear night around midnight. Hoping to use all I have to hand to record whatever dimming is evident. And by whatever is to hand, I really mean bodging.
A sony webcam held afocally and manually to the eyepiece is all I have at the moment. But hey - you can but try.

Apparently, this eclipse will be hardly noticable, even if the sky was perfectly clear, it barely enters the shadow at all. All the same if its clear, it would be worth trying to have a look anyway.

Yeah, not expecting much, the moon will pass about 100 miles from the Umbra, so there may be some dimming, but not a lot. Still It's another excuse to get out, and with a camera it might be possible to catch something that the eye will miss.

I will be watching from Maghera tonight...looking forward to it
