Venus closing in on Saturn was created by JohnONeill
Hi,
Venus is closing in on Saturn low in the evening twilight. On Saturday and Sunday they will be within the same low power field of a telescope.
Saturn is much fainter (actually 100 times!) than Venus. Last night at 21.56 UT Saturn appears as a faint naked-eye speck to the left of bright Venus.
Readers in mose southern latitudes will have a better view.
John

Saturn is rather faint in the twilight John and hard to pick up at first. I last saw it on the 18th when driving back from Balbriggan when the Moon lay between Venus and Saturn.

We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time. . . .
