Moon and Mars (24/12/07) was created by pj30something
Tonight at about midnight, Mars will be at its closest to the earth.

At 3am on the morning of Monday 24th Dec 2007, the Moon and Mars will be so close together in the sky that they will appear to touch each other.

Also in the next few days.................

The Moon will pass infront of the Seven Sisters star cluster.

I won't be here to see many of these events, so i want some nice pics to view on my return,LOL.

Well, from my vantage point today, there is not a single cloud in the sky. Something I haven't seen like this for months. Wonder if it might carry over to this evening...

Looking forward to this on the morning of the 24th, the further north you are, the closer mars will be to the south pole of the moon..., webcam's would be excellent here!
