There will be an occultation again of the Pleiades by the Moon, in the night of Fri Sep 19 on Sat Sep 20. The Moon is 60 degrees high, 70 percent illuminated. Disappearences at the illuminated side. Watch for the wide double star 21 and 22 Tau. Ten minutes after the last star disappeared, the first one comes back again.

19 Tau . . mag 4,3 . . 1h 59m
20 Tau . . mag 3,9 . . 2h 16m
21 Tau . . mag 5,8 . . 2h 21m
22 Tau . . mag 6,4 . . 2h 24m

I've just been watching the weather forecast for the week & it's promised good for the early w/e onwards too.
I stared agasped to see a bloody big 'H' on the chart heading our way for the 1st time in ~8 weeks :woohoo:

just with the little digital camera against the eyepiece
the star 19 is close to the moon
star 20 and wide double 21+22 is up
the stars where easily visible next to the moon
