Keep an eye out tongiht for the full Moon rising in the SE at around 11:30 -
'Moon' illusion will make it look really cool.
The clouds seem to be clearing here in Shannon too!

It's clearing up nicely here now.
Just checked
www.metoffice.gov.uk/satpics/latest_uk_vis.html
There is a clear patch developing just right over Clare
moving SW.

Just back from a jaunt around the West.
I tried to beat the clouds,
(opposite of stormchasing I had the sat nav,
mobile BB and laptop with me and I was going to
where it was clear!)
Well, the clouds got the better of me with regards
to the Moon rise but the upside is, I found some nice spots
off the beaten track for observing & photography.
I found a nice elevated spot facing N with a wide expanse
of rolling fields with pretty much no lighting
so I set up my camera an waited to see would some NLC's appear.
Well, yeah, there was a very VERY slight display,
nothing worth posting in picture form.
I wonder did anyone catch the moonrise at all?

Not here, clouds also rolled in along the horizon for about an hour. I went to bed then after that!
