Lunar Occultation of Venus 16 May 2010 Time 12:33 PM (local) was created by Vagelis Tsamis
During our observation weekend at Mt. Parnon, Greece, on May 14th-16th, it was cloudy and a bit rainy throughout Friday and Saturday, but on Sunday, at mid-day, we observed an occultation of Venus by the Moon.
The event was spactacular, both dissappearance and reappearance took place in broad daylight.
Seconds after reappearance, Venus and Moon were lost in the clouds.
*Venus can be easily spoted on the sky even during daylight with just a pair of binoculars, and then, since you know where to look, it can be seen with naked eye, too*
You can also see some photos at: www.astrovox.gr/forum/album_cat.php?cat_id=79
