Hi,
Jupiter and Uranus are having their last in their current series
of conjunctions.
This evening (Jan 3 2011) they were a easy sight in any telescope, half a degree apart. They will be similiarly close for the next days. Binoculars also easily show them.
Also imaged with the 130mm refractor and DSLR.

Good man, John. My wife Valerie and I saw the Jupiter - Uranus conjunction yesterday (Monday) between 4.30 and 5.30pm. We had my new Pentax 10mm eyepiece in the 6.2" refractor, and we could fit both planets in the field of view. Also Jupiter's largest moon Ganymede was casting a big shadow very close to the south pole. What a marvellous sight it all was.

No luck here last night, we were clouded out in the midlands for the most of it.
