Loadsa Solar flares - R man get your camera charged! was created by daveg
Huge Active region AR11339 is spewing out solar flares. Many C flares and one M today and its just released an X class which I couldn pick up (after sunset). This guy will almost certainly produce CMEs so Ronan get your camera charged up!
My Solar Ionic Disturbance (SID) monitoring station just went bannanas durng the day, Ive picked out some of todays flares but this thing is constantly crackling so the ionosphere is all over the place.

Just rechecked my data and the X ray flare is visible! It disturbed the gradual climb in the signal of station NAA from the US. This is unusual as the strength of the night time signal would be expected to mask any flare activity. It was a lucky break in the timing of the flare and the fact that I was monitoring a station from the US whose signal strength only increases sometime after sunset in Ireland.
