There was a disturbance in the magnetic field last night but nothing more than "unsettled", enough to register on the magnetometer but not enough for a bright display (of course someone will come out now with images of huge displays:)). I dont know what caused it as there were no coronal holes present (fast solar wind) and that CME missed us altogether.

BTW look at the Sun now - 2 sunspot groups and thats it! not what you'd expect just ovr a year from max.

yea, its an odd one, I no sooner made the post, had then a look back and alot of the red had dissapeared. It was the most red I've ever seen on the map.
As for the Sun, it'll be interesting to see how this activity progresses.

Hi Dave's, contrary to what SP said on the NOAA website they said there was am impact from the CME around 1600 UT

Thnx Ronan, SW saying it missed but NOAA say it gave a brief push to the solar wind,, looks like we got hit by a solar fart :laugh:
