Wonderful Aurora March 28

Did anyone see the Aurora 2 nights ago March 28? I got a tip off from James Adamson on my way home from work at 0010am about an good aurora in progress,of course while trying to rush home got stuck behind a circus convoy doing 40mph.Landed home at 0040 and grabbed the camera and took a 30 sec exposure facing North and syre enpugh huge green glow, packed up and headed up to Lough Talt in the Ox mountains, where I waited for Moonset and for another 60 minutes, until heading up the hillto see more of the green glow hidden from view



Activity was very low level for a long while and took a few time lapse images, was just about th head off as was getting very late when there was a wonderful and vivid burst of activity, beautiful moving rays along the northern horizon









The best aurora I have seen since 2003, out doing the one last October and my second in two weeks

Is there anyone here doing observing at all anymore??, another frm the last night

Ronan - I think everyone has been out the last few nights observing!

Superb aurora images and the last one there is very artisitc.

Photo Montage here, I caught two meteors in one shot,one bright and one very faint, seemed to be a sprinkling of them heading north, is there a minor meteor shower at present?

Nicely done Ronan, epsecially the meteor streaks. I'm not sure if there was any recognised minor activity out there on that night...
