What might be an interesting event tonight (26th May), is the reappearance of Cancer star cluster M67 from behind the almost 7-day-old waxing crescent Moon. According to the May issue of the Sky at Night magazine, I should start observing the Moon at about 22.45.
I have just in from looking at the Moon for 2 hours, and my new Skywatcher Nirvana 28mm 2" eyepiece is working a treat. It gives me 40X and 2 degrees 3 minutes true field of view. Apparent fov is 82 degrees.
I observed the crater Piccolomini with its central peak, and Theophilus and its central peak. But the greatest sight was Rupes Altai -the Altai Scarp -almost 300 miles long with lovely cliffs.
