International Observe the Moon Night 2012

Check out the global map, this event is HUGE
I know it’s been a miserable summer and planning astronomy events for the public is
soul destroying but take a look and see.

Maybe plan an opportunistic Moon viewing around that time :-) it’s the only way to do some
Moon sharing in this country.

My kids club in Bray will be involved and I see Shannonside are already registered. BCO too

Here is the Twitter handle Twitter

Here is the Facebook page Facebook

Lets kick of the Autumn season by getting IFAS clubs included ............ go on register your club its easy ... we can also wink at the Moon in honour of Neil Armstrong ................. if we can see the Moon on the night.

Lets do it

Here in Limerick we're doing an observing night for it, it has been good fun in previous years, so we're hoping to make this an annual event.

DAS is having their first meeting of the autumn next Thursday and am fairly sure we'll do something for Moonwatch - hopefully and event in Tramore/Waterford and one in Dungarvan. Will register it before next weekend.

Thanks everyone fingers crossed its clear on September 22nd
If it is clear in Bray on Int Observe the Moon night I would appriciate a local few telescopes
and their people helping out.

I had an opportunistic Moon sharing moment last night after my life drawing class. The Moon looked
great rising over the sea, the scope was in the car, many smiles :-)
Actually it was just across the road from Keiths shop :-) where he has had several impromptu
moon moments with the public.
