hi all,
Dublin Sidewalk Astronomers meeting at Sandymount Tower tonight, April 25th, at 8:30pm (BST) for the partial lunar eclipse ... or some cloudwatching depending on the weather!
Moonrise is at 8:43pm BST for Dublin ... see
www.heavens-above.com
for details for your location along with the Moon's azimuth rising point.
Also, the utility
www.suncalc.net
will let you see sunrise/sunset location on Google maps but can be used to help orientate yourself with the moonrise/set points (i.e., move the slider at the top of the page to a time which will coincide with the azimuth you want to check).
The partial event lasts about 15 minutes centred around 9pm BST and the Moon's altitude will be about 2 degrees.
See Fred Espenak's eclipse page at
eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov/OH/OH2013.html
for more details of the event itself.
