Hi,
There is a report of a probable SN in M81. For details please follow the link at AAVSO
I would would be glad to get any copies of visual estimates or photometry.
Hope you get clear skies. Here, it is -11C and cloudy. It it ever clears I can't imagine how low it will get!

Hi,
A clear but cold night (-12C). My Visual estimate of the SN in M82 was 11.6 using the AAVSO comparison chart. Used the 28cm SCT at 187x. The SN was in the nubulosity of the galaxy.
Nice image Albert, I also did an image showing the SN in th e galaxy (with my DSLR) but will upload it tomorrow.

Great night last night. Managed to get a half decent image of it even with my rough polar alignment. I'm sure half the telescopes in Ireland will be on it over the next few nights.
