With the closure of the August 2014 Astrophotography Competition, it is time to judge the entries. Please view the photos below and cast your vote on the Poll included. There is no need to reply to this post, or add comments - people's views are their own but may seem to sway favour towards a particular photo if too many comments towards a particular photo is made.

You have only 1 Vote, so make it count. Thanks again to Scopes & Space Ltd. and is an Orion Starshoot Autoguider camera. (see August's competition thread here for details)

The Sun #1

The Sun with 2 sunspots seen during the Total Solar Eclipse of March 29th 2006 in Turkey. Taken with a compact Samsung digital camera held to the 25mm eyepiece of a Meade ETX 70 (Baader filter on the objective). Colour aberration is normal.

The Sun #2

The setting Sun seen through some haze created by nearby bush fires.

The Sun #3

The Sun on 23rd August 2014 taken through a Solarscope 80 with a Lumix G6 camera.

Best of Luck!
