September Entries - Only 1 Entry - SEPTEMBER WINNER! (2009) was created by Seanie_Morris
Only one entry was submitted for September, so once again, merging two threads as one:
It is with great pleasure that I get to announce that Johnney Guinness from Waterford, and member of Deise Astronomy Club, is the winner for September!
A composite of several images taken on different dates during the month of September 2009. The Waterford City part is a panorama of 6 separate images taken on the 15th of September from Jury's Hotel. The Moon and stars were imaged between the 20th and 29th of September 2009.
Camera used was an Olympus u-Mini 5.0 MegaPixel, Telescope 1 used was a TASCO Luminova 114mm 4 1/2"; F=900mm and Telescope 2 used was a Discovery Dobsonian 8" DHQ - F=1219mm
Congratulations Johnny!

Holy cat's meow Batman!
That's a big Moon.
This is a composite yes?
How many different shots make this up?

Yes, its a composite image. The Quays in Waterford is made up of 5 separate images. The moon was imaged by itself and the stars were greatly enhanced and pieced together to make up a large patch of sky. I made the moon very large to give the image an element of fantasy and creativity.
