Your target for entry into October's competition will be on Eerie Astronomy - I want you to use your imagination and capture something sinister astronomically this month with the culmination being Hallowe'en. Images must have been taken within this year, 2009. Be Creative!
Closing Date: Saturday October 31st.
Entries are to be sent to photo_competition@irishastronomy.org and should be hosted off-site, and linked to that provider. If in doubt regarding what to do, please read the Rules & Guidelines or just ask me.
PLEASE make all images no larger than 800 pixels in width. Those that are larger will be requested to be made smaller, or failure to reply will result in omission from the competition. Some people have missed this bit in the past

Scary stuff indeed!
On a side note...
I've found myself in some places in the dead of night
with my camera / scope that no person in their
right mind would go...
Bank of a river with the tide surrounding me...
The Dolmen site in the Burren (which is technically a graveyard)
- broken ankle / ass and now knee to show for it...
A field with a rather randy bull that gave me a run for
my money...
On a beach getting my jeep stuck in sand dunes...
the list go's on...
Oh and not to mind getting accosted by hoodies one
night in a remote part of Shannon where I was pretty
thankful that the kids had just sparked up thought
the views of Saturn were '******* wicked man'
Oh yes...
and a few occasions getting 20 questions by an Garda Siochana as to why I'm out parked at the side of the road
at 3 AM with a pair of binoculars and a torch...
Yea...
I think I've enough to be choosing from there...
