If your avatar is too big... was created by Seanie_Morris
Just for the benefit for those of us NOT on broadband, can I suggest the usage of more boards-friendly and bandwidth-friendly photo avatars? I (for one example) dump my cookies and files daily, so somethings take a while. But just for consistency on these boards, avatars should be small enough not to swamp the width of the thread as well - keep things neat! 8)

I would also ask for the same regards photos within threads. Bart has asked before, as this sites' provider includes a certain amount of bandwidth before there (usually) is a charge. In some threads, photos which are small in dimensions are still taking a long time to load because they are stll heavy in data - try resampling a bit better to get the data size down.

Thanks,

Seanie.

I have to say I agree with Seanie. Avatars that are too big are not really fair on those deprived of broad band and avatars that bust the site out of shape are just plain annoying and make things hard to read!

Now, I COULD enforce some way of limmiting avatar sizes but quite frankly I have not been heavy handed with anything on this site becaues we are all adults and I'm not gonna start now.

I'm gonna come up with a code of practice for avatars and images and then anounce it and I'm just gonna ask people to please respect the guidelines.

Cheers and clear skies,

Hi Guys,

Had a look at the Avatars and found mine to be a lot bigger than most.

I've deleted it until Bart comes out with the code of practice.
