I did the current rendering of the IFAS logo about 2 years ago and at tbh it stinks. It looks like someone with no graphics experience made it, and since I had no graphics experience back then that is also true!

If anyone would like to havea go at re-doign the logo, along the same idea would be preferable but not necessart, please feel free to do so.

In order for me to use the logo on the site I will need it in EITHER of the following forms:

1) In the GIMP format (.xcf)

OR

2) as a LARGE (1024x1024) PNG

The logo should be on a transparent background and ideally shoudl work on both black and white however I will settle for 2 veresions of the logo, one that works on black and one that works on white.

Please note that I don't care waht software you use to generate these logos as long as the end product is of EITHER of the forms mentioned above.

Thanks in advance,

Bart B.,
IFAS Webmaster.

There should be a 'poster friendly' version (.png or .jpg) for paperwork, and a .gif or similar (is that .xcf?) or webpages.

Or have I just re-iterated what was just asked?!?! :D

Yup!

A 1024x768 version of the logo is big enough to use for anything. give nthe PNG you can re-size and save to GIF or JPG or what ever is needed for the website or a poster.

The .xcf format is the format the GIMP uses to store files wile preserving their layers and other info so you can, give that file export to anything you need.

Given either a very large PNG or an xcf we can do anything we need.

Bart.

I would like to help here but I'm not a graphic designer.
all the same , I like the way the crab nebula is incorporated into it.
Are you thinking along the lines of a more enhanced/stylish version of whats already there ???
