Website is REALLY slow today when posting new messages.
I tried twice to post a new message and it just could not be done. It timed out on both occasions. I've also noticed that others users have had problems recently resulting in multiple posts.
Is it just the e-mail notifications feature that is causing this delay?
I think so. It's not scaling as well as it could. IT worked fine when we only had a few hundred members but with the amount we have it's starting to put a real strain on the server.
It's funny - when I originally posted this topic, it really was the only time I have ever come across it so bad. Usually, posting a topic takes all of 4 to 5 seconds INCLUDING the double-back to the topic you have just posted in. I don't think the e-mail notification is to blame. I have however noticed SOMETIMES that when our site has these difficulties, other websites I frequent under the "hosting365 server space sold" banner, they too have had delays and time-outs.
