Ireland map with clubs on it

Oops. Sorry guys, I forgot to let ye know that I had sent it. :oops:

It's just a matter of it being inserted. I'm sure Bart would probably like to change the code around a bit to match the same procedures as the rest of the site to make maintenance easier.

Right, we have a very crude verison 0 up as a starting point.

What I need now is some graphics people to do the following for me:

1) a better looking small map (keeping the background colour to #63639c like my one is)
2) a nice BLANK large map using any colour that will look good on the site
3) Someone to do a nice graphic for club labels that has room for text on it.

Great Bart, this is a good start.

I think the smaller map is fine, you got the colour perfect, the thing that needs changing there is the title above it.
The second page needs abit of tweaking, How about a bigger map on the top of the page with all the clubs listed below it, when you press on a club it brings you down the page to the club details,
I can come up with a bigger map with names on it.

OK, the thing to remember about the big map is that if this is going to be scalable it HAS to be blank and I need a blank label that I can place text over with HTML. The idea is that the map will sit there and then for each club a layer will be placed over the map in the right place with a name on it. As clubs come and go the labels will automatically change. That entire page is generated from a database table, none of it is hard-coded so the map needs to be the same.

The problem with the Google maps idea is that it's a lot more complicated and not as clear. It also means that we need locations from everyone.

What I have in mind is the following:

The page has a simple map at the top with the clubs all on it. When you click a club you get scrolled down to the clubs entry which gets highlighted (border around it and a change in background colour probably). We then add an extra field to each club that links to google maps or something with their club shown as a pin IF they have given us the details we need.

How does that sound?
