all good points Frank, go write up an intro if you wish and if it looks good it can be put up.

So how about a sticky at the top of the section that just briefly explains to the first time reader the vibe of the section, that we encourage first-timers and beginners to post up their pics?
Also, if asked, we will give our opinions or advice etc.
Then a few brief guidelines as to size and places to store images (Flikr etc...)
tags, all that...?

Thanks for volunteering! :D You write it and I'll make it sticky!

I've removed the first one; its out of date.

The images post can be merged into the 'beginners' topic that you are going to write 8-)

As for writing a sticky.
Is there not someone a bit more experienced than me here to write it?

How about a processing workshop?
Processing is always my weak point and my brain works too slow for following books etc. at the same time.
How about one of you processing wizards doing something like putting up an unprocessed image, one we could download to our own PC, then walk us through the processing with the finished image beside the unprocessed one?
Practical learning is always the best.
Bill.
