weblogs! was created by albertw
Hi,

Somewhere on the site we could have weblogs. No, not `record you random thoughts` weblogs, observation weblogs.

If tied in with the observing section then it would allow folks to record their observing here, and compare observations etc. etc. For the more experienced observers out there I'm sure their logs would become worthwhile reading in themselves.

Not a project to work on now, but might be worth thinking about.

Cheers,
~Al

Al,

As a long time weblogger myself ( www.tomcosgrave.com ) I'd prefer to have my own section there for observing - will probably set one up for next year.

I do think one weblog for the site would be good - open it to members of the site, and have categories for different things - one for each planet, the moon, the sun, M objects, NGC objects, a category for telescopes and binoculars etc etc...what do you think?

As it grows, it could become a valuable database of information for people, more so that would be the case if there were a mass of weblogs...

Just my thoughts...
Tom

I have planned something like this from the start.

My idea was to have a data base of observations that people could post observations to as well as some meta data allowing the whole system to be easily searchable.

I think it has the potential to become a really powerful resource if peopel use it.
