I tried to add events to the calendar about two months ago , I did not have any access to it so I did not bother after that. I have no add an event link at all.

I have no "add event" feature on my calander page either. Is there anything that can be done?

and I think Darragh it was that came back to say
I had it.
I think by the replys it was just the IFAS reps that
had access to edit.
I may be wrong though.

I recall now I asked for access to edit
and I think Darragh it was that came back to say
I had it.
I think by the replys it was just the IFAS reps that
had access to edit.
I may be wrong though.
I think it was aimed at the IFAS reps so as to limit potential spam. If anyone here does not have the proper access (as an IFAS Rep) to it, please PM me and we'll get that sorted.

I will take a look at this now and see if there is a rights-issue here or something.
Michael.
I'm setting up a Joomla based site at the moment. To fix the calendar issue you need to go into Joomla back-end => Site => Global Config => User Settings and change New User Registration Type to "Author." That will allow all new users to submit claendar events, web links, articles, etc. You will still have to change the rights of existing users to "Author" as well - not sure how to do that except one-by-one
If I can add, on the heels of having just read the jaw-dropping cascaded of posts about the site/IFAS dying (I go away for a few days and look what happens!) - I can imagine that the boys and girls involved in running IFAS and the website (who are all VOLUNTEERS, in case people have forgotten!) must be feeling pretty unappreciated about now. Well I for one would like to say a big Thank You for all your efforts, dedication and selfless hard work - It is genuinely appreciated here!
To the knockers out there - IFAS and the website are what YOU make it. If it's not all that you could hope for then help to fix the problem - don't throw stones at it and poke it with a sharp stick, because that's the surest way to kill it permanently.
To paraphrase (well, mangle, really) JFK: Ask not what your Federation can do for you - Ask what you can do for your Federation.
