IFAS boards on improved speed today? was created by Seanie_Morris
I always had the problem of having to wait tens of seconds for these boards to travel between commands of going from one forum post to another. Today, it is instant as if there was never a problem. It always occurred when I was logged in and not as a guest.
Did anyone else here ever experience consistent lags between forums and posts before but notice a difference today? Was there an update applied somewhere Darragh?

No change here - same as usual - not blisteringly fast but quick enough to avoid any frustration...

Nope. No change for me either.
I have 5Mb broadband
but have always found the site sluggish,
even at 4AM when most sensible folks are tucked up in the scratcher.
Maybe you got one of those 'free'
speed upgrades from Vodaphone (old Bt Accounts) Seanine?
I got bumped from 3meg to 5 for zip a while back.
(plus a free wireless modem)
fair play to 'em.

Thanks guys. No, the sluggish behaviour when I view the forums logged in has been like that for about a year or two, and it's not dependent on location either. This evening, I am back to hanging for about 20 seconds if e.g. I select 'Forum' or choose one from the forum listing. When I am not logged in, the lag is almost non existent. Maybe the server was NOT doing something in particular when I started this thread earlier?
