No Doubt, their will be applications for this or other similar system in the future. I have always thought that the prinipal of sitting a payload (human or otherwise) on top of a rocket and setting fire to the other end was a little risky. It is surprising that no other means has been looked at until now. anyway as much as I would love to go up and have a look - it seems to me to be more of an expensive fair-ground ride. 100K (you could buy a 900mm reflector for that)
