With the approach of Global Astronomy Month 2012 (GAM 2012) in April, astronomers around the globe are organizing events for the world’s largest celebration of astronomy in all its forms. Join Astronomers Without Borders in sharing the Universe with others under the motto, One People, One Sky.

Russian Cosmonaut to visit Dublin

The Russian Alliance non-profit organisation, with the support of the Russian Embassy Dublin, the Dublin Institute of Advanced Studies, and DCU have arranged for Cosmonaut Mikhail Korniyenko to visit Dublin in mid-April as part of the celebrations to mark the 50th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin's historic flight on April 12th, 1961.

April 2011 will again be a busy month for amateur and professional astronomers, educators and astronomy enthusiasts as Global Astronomy Month (GAM) returns for its second edition. The annual event, organized by Astronomers Without Borders, celebrates the Universe in the spirit of the International Year of Astronomy 2009 cornerstone project ”100 Hours of Astronomy.”
Astronomy clubs, science centers, schools, educators, and other astronomy enthusiasts worldwide are invited to reserve dates in April 2011 for public outreach, hands-on activities, observing sessions and more while sharing the enthusiasm with others across the globe during Global Astronomy Month. Everyone is invited.
