Thanks Keith - I'm sure with a little tweaking your mount would be up to the job. The scope, again with good collimation and attention to focus, would be up to it. You just need to get some kind of CCD. The DSI at $300 is really a steal in terms of value for money.

If its something you want to get into, a small investment would get you there. And with xmas coming up.... :D

Thanks for the kind comments - I'm going to try and get this publicised as an Irish venture - I'm not one for beating my own drum. But if this can in any way focus attention onto the amateur astronomy community of Ireland, then I'd be really delighted.

Cheers

Fantastic stuff Dave. Richly deserved. Ahh they'll be singing songs about this in years to come. I can see it now 'The ballad of UGC 10626'

'There was a maaaaaaan, who had a scooooooooope'

or maybe'

'Old McDonald had a mount K.Y.L.I.E,
and on that mount he had a scope K.Y.L.I.E.
Whith a click, click here click click there,
Dark frame, ligh frame,
supernovas everywhere.
Old Mcdonald etc etc'

WTG man I'm thrilled to bits for you.

Regards and Clear Skies,

Dave.
