maybe the right time to ask, shoulnt m43 be some were around orion also?

I know m42 is star number 2 in the sord?

In this picture, is the red line the belt, and the red circle the nebula?

I'm not really sure what a nebula is, so I don't know what to look for! But I did see a fair few stars directly below the belt.

I can't find the seven sisters though, can't even see it with my eyes!

the red is the nebulas core (m42), with longer expsure with the camera its hudge

and yes thats the belt

Dont take everything i say for 100% correct, im a noob to :D

M42 = The (Great) Orion Nebula
M43 = The Reflection Nebula

In the picture Erik posted above, M43 is the fuzzy 'star' above M42, which is the pink nebula in Orion's sword.

Both are shown here captured in the same field of view:
