Astro music? was created by dmcdona
Folks - I'm putting together an astronomy presentation and was wondering if anyone knew if/where I could get some suitable background music to accompany the video content I'll be using.
Of course, it needs to by royalty-free. It doesn't matter how long/short it is, I can edit it so it fits my requirements if needs be.
I was thinking of something along the lines of what Bart uses on the IFAS podcast.
Any help appreciated.
Dave

Dave,
first of all, I don't think you have to worry about royalties as (I assume) you are not making money from it. Copyrights and all tha are really just to ensure no one else makes money from the originator's piece of work.
Second, any of the music from some good sci-fi films, like 2010: Odyssey Two (even that fanfar from the first one, kettle drums and all!), or Battlestar Galactica (my favourite). Or, are you thinking along the lines of say War of the Worlds vocalised songs?
Seanie.

Holst - The Planets, relativly royalty free I'd have thought.

Seanie - I don't intend to make money, but then again...
A film score may be a bit long for my purposes but I could edit it I guess. I certainly wasn't thinking of any vocals - just a background electronic sci-fi/space type of tune - think Virgus Quo (artist?). The video clips I have are of the order of a minute or two. Even a 30 second soud clip looped would do...
A good DJ would know exactly what I'm looking for
Al - Holst is a good idea. I certainly rememebr it being in the house when I was, er, young... But I've haven't heard it in years and years. I'll take a look.
Thanks for the tips lads - appreciate it!
