NightSky magazine to cease publication

There is an extensive thread on the sci.astro.amateur newsgroup in relation to the cease in publication for Night Sky. Also, five staff members are being let go.

S&T editor Rich Fienberg has also posted a message in the above-named thread so as to set the record straight on some issues which were blown out of proportion.

That really is a pity as I thought it had one of the best layouts of all the astro mags, and was very clear.

What can you say, they gave it a try and it didnt work.

I tried it - didn't like it. Sorry for the 4 people let go but I won't miss the mag.

Perhaps there market base was too slim just aiming towards the beginners market.
Its human nature to move on maybe people felt it wasn’t worth buying
