There is an extensive thread on the sci.astro.amateur newsgroup in relation to the cease in publication for Night Sky. Also, five staff members are being let go.
S&T editor Rich Fienberg has also posted a message in the above-named thread so as to set the record straight on some issues which were blown out of proportion.

That really is a pity as I thought it had one of the best layouts of all the astro mags, and was very clear.

Perhaps there market base was too slim just aiming towards the beginners market.
