Dont forget that Connemara has some of the darkest skies in Europe..once you get away from Clifden, my old home town.

So pack the 'scopes.

(Interesting to find out which local hotel owner or Marquee owner would endanger a Wedding with a spring tide flood! Bizzare!)

Getting wet is part of the tourist experience in those parts. Google 'Clifden Hole'. :)

Better that old people should die of talk than to have young people die in war.

"Clifden Hole" must be a Kayakers name for it.
Its known as the "Weir Bridge" to locals.

We used to jump off it into the torrent for a dare years ago.

As I said, some of the darkest skies in Europe.
As dark as the Atlantic all around it.

Thanks for all the replies and links, much appreciated. I'll contact the harbour master in Clifden tomorrow. Hopefully the full moon on 26th won't coincide with the Spring equinox!
Cheers,
Olwen
