lidl wireless weather station

ladies and gents,
i was looking through the lidl leaflet this morning and this caught my eye so in case you haven't seen it i thought i'd post it here. they seem to be selling a wireless weather station for €15. it has an out door sensor with 30m range. didn't seem to have a brand on it but for that amount of money you can't go wrong, might be worth investigating.

hi guys,

you should subscribe to the Lidl e-mail newsletter -- a few of us are on it just in case those binoculars or some other astro-related goodies come in again.

one of the guys in England was telling me that some of the Lidl stores in the UK had the Skylux refractor on sale again last week (reduced by 10 or 20 pounds from the time it was last available). Wonder will they have it in Ireland any stage soon?

It's currently selling for Stg£10 cheaper than before. However, they're only selling it on a regional basis.

I'm thinking this may be due to stock availability. They also plan on doing the same with their laptop. This is due to go on sale for Stg999 but only in Wales and surrounding counties.

Mabey Ireland will get it's bite of the cherry in the next couple of months.

I think we need to start a new board -- "Lidl specials for astronomers"

as to why, here's something else of interest (due in the shops on 27th Sept.) . . .

the hillwalkers I know use variations of these as handwarmers -- ideal for the astronomer freezing on a hillside in the depths of winter too! The Lidl site should give you a list of shops near you Michael as well . . . Blanchardstown is my closest one (though Nenagh too when I'm down home).
