I guess you might call that Greek rain Anthony
John, I was hoping that we'd have a club observing session this weekend, it sure doesn't look like its going to happen now.

Lads, I'm looking out my window now and it's totally clear.
But in the next 10 min....who knows!.......A tornado maybe? or a Snow Storm?
you just can never trust the forcasts.

Ah yes, but the part I always looked forward to (I'm from Canada) was the resulting lightning storms! The best I have EVER seen were in Canada, following that kind of weather!

I remember when I lived in Canada and the temperatures were in the low 30's (C) ... with humidity at 80% and quite often higher, it seemed much more worse.

Only when I returned to Greece did I realize the magnitude of my blunder. It is virtually impossible to observe these wonderful events so far from the geomagnetic pole. The photos that I have managed to capture - www.perseus.gr/Astro-Aurorae.htm - are the only photos in existence documenting an aurora in Greece. :)
They are that rare down here.
Now if only I could nail some NLC's ....

Something which I really miss are the frequent aurora shows. Canada is very close to the geomagnetic pole and these events are very common. No words can describe my stupidity in not pursuing these dancing lights using photographic means.
