Thats radical!
It's hard to believe that was taken from the earth!
As for the set up he has....
fingers x's for the Euromillions tomorrow night!

Think I'll pack it in. Gives a whole new meaning to widefield images.
Rob could probably get his scope mounted on the back of the shuttle if he tried. He's got a Midas touch when it comes to astrophotography.

Folks,
This particular image is a 20-part mosaic from what I recall using a Tak FSQ. I came across Rob's message a few days ago on one of the Yahoo forums.
As for the 32" RC with a wife sitting on it, there is a slight bit of misinformation. It belongs to Jim Misti (who has collaborated with Rob on various images).

Yes. Without question. It's a fantastic image which shows all the detail behind the fuzzy reds I've picked up in my own shots.
Quite superb.

Is this the best deep sky image you've ever seen?

His site is amazing!!! His pictures rival ( and beat IMO) Hubble images. His galaxy images are...WOW! Who thought you could get images like that from earth??? Dont think I'l ever bother getting into the astrophotography business, with guys like that, ( and Anthony, Dave, Jed, Carl and Trevor, sorry if i left any experts out here) theres no chance at even competing. This guy is amazing!!! I guess that some serious science could be done from observing this guys photos.
