Not sure what you mean, do you mean web based software like a gallery? or do you mean software which saves the image to disk and allows you to save images without compressing them to much?

Two alternatives - NetObjects Fusion Essentials or Kompozer, both free, neither interferes with your jpegs. Google will get you the download sites. Look forward to seeing the website, you have some magnificent material to put on it!

For webtreatz. I use Zoom media gallery. It will upload and display exactly as the file was on disk, i.e no further compression. So whatever compression you save it as it keeps that. However, Zoom is in fact a plugin for mambo/joomla which is a content management software. So to use zoom, you also need to use mambo or joomla to manage your site.
All of these are free and once you have them up and running, you'll never look back. Your server/host needs to support php and mysql to use thewse tools.

The lovely thing about having these set up is you'll never need to write another piece of html or code again, your entire site is then managed through a backend editor.
