Hi,

Just looking at the weather for the 22nd WSP, tonight (Friday) good chance of clear sky (if we can avoid the fog - unfortunately the Demesne lies in Foggy Bottom) but Saturday not so good.

Our little spell of good weather did not last long!

John

Photo taken at the Whirlpool Star Party of Dave McDonald and his official certificate confirming the re-naming of Asteroid 1999 RV232 to "Davemcdonald" in his honour. Certificate was presented by Terry Moseley on behalf of John McConnell who unfortunately was unable to attend. Photo courtesy of Paul Fitzgerald.

Let me once again offer my congratulations to you Dave!
We were delighted to have been asked by John Mc Connell to
have the presentation held during the Whirlpool.
Thanks also to Terry for doing the honours.

Well,
it's all over for another year.
To all of you that attended I hope you had a good time!
I had a ball anyway! :woohoo:

Looking forward already to seeing you all again at WSP09!

Congratulations to SAC. Sounds like it was a great weekend. Gutted that events conspired against me attending my first event like this.......same thing happened for Cosmos.

Just had a look at the report and pictures of the event. I don't think there has ever been a set of pictures from any Irish astronomy event that I have come across that didn't have that Michael Murphy fella front and centre. He sure gets around!!;)
