Mesu Mount 200 was created by phoenix
Just ordered this mount Mesu Mount 200. Load capacity 100kg, periodic error 4" peak to peak and friction drive system. I've seen a lot of very positive reviews from recent owners so bit the bullet today.

This means I will be selling my old set up probably next month to make way for a new OTA ......

Considering a 14" SCT but that will limit any shorter focal length stuff if I want to get back into imaging. I'd really like to get an Orion Optics AG14 astrograph which is F3.8 but also has a hefty price tag.

Just got confirmation today that my new mount plus accessories are now ready for shipping.

I've been getting the observatory set up to receive the mount. First had to cut down the existing concrete column to below floor level. Had to use an angle grinder and kango hammer to expose the rebar. The concrete stump will act as an anchor between the new base and the foundations.

Then made up shuttering for new concrete:

Next was the base bolt frame:

Got a new steel pier custom made and powder coated. Cost me £110:

I plan to do the concrete pour this weekend and should be fully ready for the new mount apart from a telescope to go on it. I'll be putting the pennies away till Sept to get a new scope.

That's one beast of a mount, you could put Hubble on that.
