wow - great mount, with that capacity rating its a keeper :)

If you are interested in a 14" SCT but worried about not having the ability to do shorter focal length imaging you could consider a C14 with the Hyperstar from Starizona. This will drop the system to F2 with 675mm focal length.

I presume that 100kg capacity includes counterweights?

I'm assuming the all in capacity is 100kg but it should take a 16" with room to spare ;) . I did look at the Gemini G53 but capacity was only 45kg.

Hyperstar and a C14 would work but not an easy switch between the two configurations. Think the hassle would put me off ever going down that route. However since there appears to be no interest in the LX200 I have the option to take off the OTA and hyperstar it. Would have to wait for a hyperstar to come up second hand though as they don't make them for Meade any more.
