The weather does look better north of Dublin.

I went to Mellifont outside Drogheda a few years ago.

If I'm reading the Windy map correctly Thursday night at Kilmichael might be good.

Hi Paul/Michael, I'm not 100% sure yet what area of north County Dublin might have the best prospects but Mellifont Abbey looks like it might be under clear skies. If only the maximum was last week as I was down in Nenagh then and it looks clear tonight!

Will touch base later.

Hi all,

The forecast is still not looking good for Laragh or south Wicklow tonight (Wednesday). I am therefore going to head out towards Mullingar directly from home. Really sorry that I will not get to meet up with everyone as originally planned.

The weather prospects look better in the Midlands up to maybe 1am and it is probably the same travel time as our initial observing site.

Best of luck everyone with any viewing tonight. We can check back tomorrow to see if Thursday night has better prospects for south Dublin and Wicklow.

According to met.ie, the Arklow area looks clear for tomorrow night.  Kilmichael is a definite possibility.  Laragh is also showing clear skies.
As for tonight, the Drogheda region shows clear until midnight and cloudy from then on.  The Arklow area looks clouded out.  Mullingar shows clear skies tonight.
We are left with the choices of travelling west this evening or south tomorrow night.  Speaking for myself, I am prepared to wait until tomorrow and head to Kilmichael or the Shay Elliot.

Paul

Hi Paul,

The weather for tomorrow is looking good so I'm on for waiting.
