Hi Aubrey,
It was a great evening and mostly clear up until midnight when the clouds rolled in.
Saturn and Jupiter both put on a good show despite being so low down.
I also took in M57, M31, M3 and Albiero.
We had a member of the Garda with us. He was at the car-park as there had been a spate of burglaries during the fine weather.
Michael.

Thank you, Michael.
I didn't think anyone would bother with M 3 at this stage.
I imagine it is very high up these nights in August.
I wonder what the others observed.
Maybe next time I will join you.
Clear skies from Aubrey.

Hi Aubrey
I had my 20x90 binoculars on an alt-az mount.
I observed both Jupiter and Saturn, three moons of Jupiter observed and I believe I saw Titan, not 100% certain.
Looking on high, I scanned the region of Cygnus, starting at Deneb, I attempted to observe NGC 7000, no joy. Moving down to Sadr, I saw M29, this region of Cygnus is awash with stars and they can be overwhelming. Albireo was next, easily split in the binoculars into their beautiful colours.
I continued down the Milky Way and alighted on M11, which was distinct and wedge shaped.
Sagittarius was low on the horizon, I bagged M22, but little else as the seeing in that part of the sky was poor.
I turned to Cassiopeia before the clouds rolled in and managed a quick tour without really alighting on any particular object, just enjoying the views.
I caught a single Perseid just before the cloud came in, it was long and white and bright. Hopefully, an omen of things to come.
Paul
