TAS presents a Fun Table Quiz - Tues Dec 5th, De Bruins was created by Seanie_Morris
Hi all,
for those you who may be in the area next Tuesday night, December 5th, why not come down to De Bruins pub on Patrick Street, Tullamore, for a table quiz and some craic? We'll have a bit of music from the greatest hits of all time, 10 rounds of quite easy questions (:!, with a break at the halfway mark, and perhaps a raffle for some extra prizes too.
The main prize on the night for the winning table will be almost all the 'per table' takings on the night, so there is much to gain! Other prizes include bottles of drink (sponsored by De Bruins), and gadgets from McKenna Electronics.
It starts from 9pm for registering, €5 per head, max of 4 per table. If you can't make it, then spread the word!
See you there!

Cheers Dave. Say, for the astronomy round (heehee!), can you come up with a really good stinker of a question I can add? I'm just messing with my own head, and I can't come up with one... Now I'm talking something like a riddle more than a ridiculous numbers question!

What types of stars have a solid iron crust?
How long does it take a photon (or neutrino) to go from the suns core to Earth?
How many planets are there in our Solar System?
How fast do electrons move in a wire?

Seriously? Is there even 1?
Aren't there factors involved, such as the metal composition, temperature of the wire, the angle of the sun at the specific time of day the charge is applied to the wire....

Plenty
Well its one of those questions where you give points to the nearest answer.
People may assume that since a light goes on instantly when you trip the switch that the electrons move near the speed of light. In fact the electrons move a lot lot more slowly than that. Cant think of the calculation at this hour though!
