Nice going Dave, I hope you don't mind becoming the new astro voice of RTE Radio 1!

However, as well as the previously mentioned naked eye phenomenae listed so far, you also got Iridium Flares.

Unfortunately they are only brightly visible around 10k around the predicted center. Still if RTE were doing a broadcast from your garden sometime having a flare 'appear' would be a nice addition to the program.

Yeah, I know. Still, Dave should mention that Heavens Above site ( www.heavens-above.com ) for all the info like this according to any persons location on the globe...

Dave, of course there are also the binocular targets such as star clusters. December has a lot to offer regarding these, M35, 36,37, & 38 for starters
and of course the pleiades.

And don't forget Saturn !! Rising at about 11pm by months end...
