Nice going Dave, I hope you don't mind becoming the new astro voice of RTE Radio 1!

I did some sleuthing and found the ISS (slash Shuttle) will not be seen until December 19th over Ireland. However, as well as the previously mentioned naked eye phenomenae listed so far, you also got Iridium Flares. Unbewitting amateurs sometimes mistake these for fireballs and UFO's. Well, thats my excuse for bringing them up in conversation anyway! :D
I found the following for tomorrow, based upon a viewer from Tullamore, the central capital of Ireland!

DATE TIME MAG COMPASS WHICH ONE
13 Dec 07:40 -1 NE Iridium 66
13 Dec 07:55 -1 NW Iridium 18
13 Dec 17:31 -4 SW Iridium 54
13 Dec 18:47 -1 SE Iridium 39
14 Dec 07:34 -5 NE Iridium 21

Just in case you forget any of the other stuff other folks mentioned!

Thanks for the tips folks. I'm not sure how long I'll get but I'll try and get the following in:

The Geminids
The Plough
Casseopeia
Orion
Pleiades/Hyades
Saturn

Of course, all I'll manage is a few soundbites but I'll be putting up some info on my website so listeners can get more info. So here comes my next request: Rather than write/construct all this myself, if anyone has a web page describing any of the above for the layman, I'd be happy just to link to it.

So, send on any pages you may have and I'll link to the best of them. I'd prefer IFAS club page links rather than, say NASA or other external bodies. This is a good opportunity to advertise :D

Cheers

Dave

Trevor - that's bang on- exactly what I'm looking for. I'll link to it.

When I have the page completed, I'll let you all know. Please send on links for the other items above if you have any.

Unfortunately they are only brightly visible around 10k around the predicted center. Still if RTE were doing a broadcast from your garden sometime having a flare 'appear' would be a nice addition to the program.

(sorry for the cross-post)

OK Folks - I've pretty much got the web pages done. Have a look and let me know if I got the links right.

If you spot any spelling mistakes, please point them out :D

Cheers
